Thomas Jackson Obituary

Thomas Edwin Jackson, a cherished soul whose life journey began on January 24, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, concluded its earthly chapter on October 26, 2025, in Wayne, Michigan. Born to the late Charles and Gladyce Jackson, Thomas was a beacon of strength and joy to his family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Thomas was a proud graduate of Chadsey High School's class of 1964, where he discovered his love for music, playing string bass in the school orchestra. His passion for music was only matched by his dedication to his career at Federal Screw Works, where he devoted 35 years of diligent service.
A man of deep faith, Thomas served as a proud Deacon and long-time member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Westland. His commitment to his faith was evident in his every action and the love he extended to his church family.
In his personal life, Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Robert Jackson, his first wife Cheryl Jackson, and his second wife Linda Jackson. He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories with his daughter Lauren Temple, step-sons Scott Richardson, Brian Richardson, and Mark Connon, his adored grandson Jonathan Temple, step-grandchildren Dana Jeffery, Kenny Richardson, Evan Richardson, and Logan Connon, brother James (Lorraine) Jackson, and many nieces and nephews.
Thomas's zest for life was apparent through his varied interests. A proud member of the NRA and the Single Action Shooting Society Group, he found great joy in the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. His love for the Old West was not just a hobby but a persona he embraced as "Ranger Jack," often saying he was a cowboy in a previous life. His enthusiasm for history led him to become an avid re-enactor, and he delighted in dressing up like the characters from old westerns, especially his hero, John Wayne.
An avid shooter, Thomas was a respected member of the Western Wayne County Conservation Society, where he shared his expertise and passion for responsible gunmanship. His love for the sport was infectious, and he was always ready to share stories and experiences with fellow members.
Thomas's life was a testament to the strength of character, devotion to family, and commitment to his passions. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, for he touched many lives with his kindness, humor, and unwavering spirit.
As we bid farewell to Thomas Edwin Jackson, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. Rest in peace, Ranger Jack, until we meet again.
