Golfing at Towne Country Club or nearby in Cambridge at Lake Ripley were some of his fondest. The family moved to Pewaukee when Tom was in high school where he attended and graduated from Catholic Memorial HS.

He enjoyed retirement and golfing in the Ozaukee County Men's Senior League after his brother Bob recruited him.
