Tommy was a self-employed carpenter and builder with a deep love for old homes. He dedicated his life to restoring historic houses, pouring his heart and hands into each project. Even in his final days, his mind never stopped sketching plans and thinking about tools.
A proud and active member of the Rutherford community, Tommy devoted countless hours over the decades volunteering with Rutherford Junior Football, Little League, and Babe Ruth Baseball. He had a natural ability to teach, encourage, and lead-especially from the sidelines. When he wasn't building or coaching, he found peace and joy tending to his beloved backyard garden.
He was a playful and boisterous presence, full of vibrant energy and an easygoing charm. Known for his big heart and resilient spirit, he was both a reflective soul and a visionary-always dreaming big, living fully, and, yes, occasionally in the way only someone deeply passionate and steadfast could be.
Tommy will be remembered for his sharp wit, eccentric charm, and unshakable work ethic. He was funny, stubborn, and endlessly creative-a true character who left an impression on everyone he met.
Services will be held at Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home
19 Lincoln Avenue, Rutherford, NJ
Viewing: Wednesday, May 28th, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM
Prayer Service: Thursday, May 29th, at 11:00 AM (gathering begins at 10:00 AM)
