Thomas Allmond Kennedy of Little Silver, formerly of Wilmington, DE, Brooklyn, NY, and Rhosllanerchrugog, Wales, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at home. Thomas was born in Brooklyn, New York, where he resided with his parents, Samuel and Sarah Kennedy. A few years after Thomas' father passed away in 1945, Thomas and his mother moved to Wales where he spent several years enveloped in a warm and loving extended family. He held Wales close to his heart for his entire life.
Thomas, also known to his grandchildren as "Taid," lived in Little Silver for the past 22 years after moving there from Wilmington, DE, in order to be closer to his family. He was a kind, fun-loving man who liked nothing better than sharing his stories and occasional song with all. Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was fortunate to have many caring doctors and nurses who helped him over the years. His helper, "Z," was a constant and compassionate caregiver over the last few years.
Thomas was predeceased by his wife, Irene Mary, of 48 years. He is survived by his daughter, Megan and husband Brian Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Grace and husband Michael Krupnik, Clare Fitzgerald, Emma and husband Reid Rosello; great grandson, Liam Krupnik; his sister in law, Eleanor; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a funeral service on August 29, 2025, at 10:30 am at Embury United Methodist Church, 49 Church St, Little Silver, NJ 07739. Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank, NJ has been entrusted with the arrangements.
He is now in "That house not made with hands. Eternal in the Heavens." Gone but not forgotten, a special man who touched the lives of many and left his mark upon us all.
