Thomas William "Tom" Lawson, 78, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Buffalo, Missouri. Born on August 9, 1947, in
Jefferson, Iowa, Tom lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by those he loved and who loved him deeply.
Tom was the beloved husband of Beverly Lawson. Their journey together began over three decades ago and was marked by unwavering devotion, love, and shared joy. They were married on June 8, 1996, at their cherished home at 525 State Hwy A in Chestnutridge, Missouri - a place that held deep meaning for them both. It is there that Tom wished his ashes to be scattered by his loved ones, a final return to the heart of their shared life.
He was a devoted father to Tad Lawson and a proud grandfather to Jordan Lawson and his wife Caitlin, and Tyler Lawson. Through marriage, Tom also embraced the role of stepfather to Mark Myers and Ray Myers. His love extended to their families as well - Mark's fiancée Katie Dekeukelaere; Ray's wife Ashley Myers; and grandchildren Layne Myers, Hadley Myers, and Harlow Myers.
Tom's family roots were strong. He was the son of Bill Lawson and Loraine Maxine Schultz Lawson, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his siblings: sister Linda Foley and her husband Mark Foley; brother Tim Lawson and his wife Jane Lawson; and sister Lori Cummings with her husband Floyd
Cummings. His legacy continues through numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will remember him with affection.
Throughout his life, Tom embraced many roles, loving husband, brother, son, father, stepfather, and grandfather - with grace and dedication. Those who knew him best will remember the quiet strength he carried into every relationship and the deep love he gave so freely.
In his final moments, Tom was not alone. Beverly held his hand - as they had done countless times before - and kissed his forehead while whispering words of love. She told him he was the love of her life and always would be. With that tender farewell, Tom slipped peacefully into eternal rest.
May Thomas William "Tom" Lawson's memory bring comfort to all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 20, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with the ashes being scattered at 2:00 at the home Tom and Beverly Lawson shared together. We will be celebrating Tom's life with the spreading of his ashes in the pasture of his home at 525 State Highway A, Chestnutridge MO. 65630. We will have snacks to enjoy before and after the scattering of the ashes.
