THOMAS LOHAN

LOHAN, Thomas Age 91, of West Roxbury, formerly of Headford, Co. Galway, Ireland, passed away July 19, 2024. Son of the late Thomas and Nora (Hardiman) Lohan. Beloved husband of 60 years to Mary (Coughlan) Lohan. Devoted father of Mary Jane Cooney and her husband Leo of Westwood, John Lohan of West Roxbury, Nora Hutton and her husband Tom of Westwood, William Lohan of Galway, Ireland, Patricia Margarido and her husband Tony of CT, and Brian Lohan and his wife Melinda of Holliston. Dear brother of Evelyn Fisher, and the late John and William Lohan, Mary Austin, and Margaret Scully. Loving grandfather of Thomas Cooney, Kathleen Neimann, Michael Cooney, Liam and Maeve Hutton, Anna and Keira Margarido, Declan, Ronan, and Delaney Lohan. Great-grandfather of Charles and Andrew Neimann and Daniel Cooney. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Tom was grateful for the opportunities America provided him, becoming a Master Electrician and also taking classes at MIT and Harvard University. He worked as an Electrical Inspector for the City of Boston, and then worked for the Boston Public Schools Department of Planning and Engineering. Tom enjoyed cycling miles a day, which continued into his late 80's during the onset of the COVID pandemic. Tom lived his life with a deep faith in God and love for his family and country. He was known for his kind and gentle spirit, treating others with courtesy and dignity. He expressed immense gratitude to all through his final days. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY, on Tuesday, July 23rd, at 9am; followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa of Avila Church at 10am.
