Thomas Lovato, Sr., born April 8, 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away in his native city on November 15, 2023. Loved by many, Thomas carried a reputation as a handyman, always ready with a quick fix or a joke.
Thomas was preceded in death by his mother Feliz (Phyllis) Lovato, brother Anthony Lovato, niece Evangeline (Vange) Lovato and other family.
He is survived by his father Benajamin Lovato, sister Cindy and husband Louie, sister Carrie and husband Rick, sister Marie and husband Blas, brother Ben and wife Louann, brother Richard and wife Liz, son TJ and wife Mona and their two sons Thomas III and Emilio, and many loving family and friends.
Passionate about building models and inking tattoos, Thomas transformed the mundane into masterpieces. Yet, his greatest joy was his family, particularly his son and grandsons who meant the entire world to him. His love for them was pure, unfiltered, and endless, embodying the loving individual he truly was.
A connoisseur of culinary arts, Thomas wore his hat as a great cook with pride, especially his chili and meatloaf. His dishes were a testament to his skill and love for food. A remarkable man adorned with a sense of humor, his vibrant spirit would fill any room with laughter and joy.
Thomas Lovato, Sr. will always be remembered as a handy, funny, and loving individual.
Thomas' life celebration will begin with a visitation starting at 5:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 6:00 p.m. all at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW 87102. Family invite everyone to gather after the services for a reception at Salazar Event Center also located at 400 St SW 87102.
