Thomas “Tom” W. McQuady, 78, of Moline, IL, fell asleep in Jesus on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Hope Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation, East Moline.
A Christian Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Following the service, a Celebration of Life Meal will be held at the Homewood Manor Community Center, 6425 60th St. Moline, IL, beginning at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Quad City Health Initiative, Davenport, IA.
Tom was born on July 13, 1946, in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of Edna (Merrill) and Paul McQuady. He retired after a long career at Pioneer Hybrid in Durant, Iowa. Tom greatly enjoyed traveling extensively with his wife, Cathy, during his early retirement. He returned to live in Florida from 2013-2022 where he enjoyed shooting, riding motorcycles, and playing cards with friends and family. Tom will be remembered for his handyman skills and the countless repairs and renovations that he provided for people in need.
Tom is survived by his wife of 24 years, Cathy; son Brent McQuady of Durant, IA and daughter Beth McQuady of Waukee, IA; stepchildren, Tiffany (Jonathan) Manor, Shelley (Eric) Reisenbigler and 6 grandchildren, Marissa, Grant, Grace, Beckett, Melia and Soren; and 3 great-grandchildren, Clarice, Theodore and James.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce (d. 1997) and his parents.
