Thomas Meehan Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home from Sep. 17 to Sep. 30, 2024.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Thomas G. Meehan and Judith F. Meehan. Judith (Judy) departed to heaven on September 11, 2024, followed by Thomas (Tom), just two days later, on September 13, 2024.
Tom, who was born in Evanston Illinois, and Judy who was born in Chicago, built their lives together in Northbrook, Illinois. Tom was a dentist and Judy was a registered nurse. In the early 1990s, they retired and moved to Spokane, Washington. They immediately fell in love with the beauty and serenity of Spokane, but it was the people they loved the most – they cherished the deep connections they established with friends, family, and neighbors.
Judy, an eternal optimist, was known for her ability to brighten any room with her warmth and positivity. She had a gift for making everyone feel special and uplifted, often offering a hug or words of encouragement to those around her. Her greatest joy was caring for her horses, chickens, ducks, and the occasional stray cat that wandered into her beloved barn.
Tom had a brilliant financial mind and was the ultimate provider. He always put family and friends first, ensuring their needs were met before his own. Whether offering financial advice, emotional support, or simply a helping hand, Tom was a constant source of strength and reliability for those around him. Tom loved tending to his land and was a volunteer math tutor for many years in Colbert, Washington.
Together, Tom and Judy created a life filled with love, family, and community. They are survived by their two children, Thomas B. Meehan and Brian Meehan (Jennifer Meehan), three grandchildren (Tom, Colin, and Ryan Meehan), and countless family and friends whose lives are forever touched by their kindness and generosity.
