Tom Miewald, 56, of Vancouver, Washington, died August 19th, 2025.
He was born on January 28th, 1969, to Robert D. Miewald and Erika U. Miewald (née
Macholz) in Long Beach, California.
Tom attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, earning Bachelor's and Master's
degrees.
After moving to the Pacific Northwest, Tom worked at the Wild Salmon Centre, the US

Oregon. Most recently, he was Director of Programs at EcoAgriculture Partners, where
he led the 1000 Landscapes for 1 Billion People initiative.
A passionate conservationist, Tom co-created the Cascades to Coast Landscape
Collaborative, a multi-organization effort to address landscape conservation, and he

Cameroon, working on agroforestry projects and developing a mapping and data
analysis facility.
Tom loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time hiking in the landscapes of the
Pacific Northwest, especially with his son Milo. He also played guitar in a band and
loved to bike.
He was a truly devoted father, providing unwavering support and guidance to Milo. Milo
is honored to be his son and Tom will live in his heart forever.
