Adams Mason Funeral Home & Crematory - AkronThomas Milton III of Kent, Ohio, a beloved husband, father, uncle, brother and friend passed away on Thursday, September 25th, 2025 at age 76.
Thom was born March 9th, 1949 in Ravenna, Ohio to Betty and Thomas Milton II. He grew up in Kent, Ohio alongside his four younger siblings, Billy, Susan, Dennis and Todd, and graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1967. He then joined the military where he served in Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic, and spent time stationed in Germany. In 1988 he met his soon to be wife, Catie, who he would later marry in February 1993. He worked as a school bus mechanic, truck driver, and Local 894 laborer for many years.
One of his favorite past times was riding and racing his dirtbikes, he went on to get his pro card in 1976 and place 5th in the 1978 AMA Eastern Qualifier. His love for Motocross was something he shared with his children and the memories of their time spent riding together will never fade. He loved watching NHRA races and the Cleveland Browns play on Sundays. He was always listening to music, anything from Earth Wind & Fire and Parliament Funkadelic to Rock and Roll, especially when he was in his garage working.
Thom is survived by his wife, Catie and their children, Thomas, James, Theresa and Kathryn; brother, Todd Milton; sister, Susan Milton and his niece, Lesley; as well as numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Betty and Thomas Milton II and his brothers Billy and Dennis.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 24th, 2025 at 1pm at American Legion 496, 1945 Mogadore Rd, Kent, OH 44240. The family invites those who knew and loved Thom to come and share a story or memory they have of him.
