Thomas Moore Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 15, 2025.
Thomas William Moore passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025. He was 82.
A lifelong resident of Ohio, he grew up in Stow and graduated from Stow High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served for four years aboard the USS Saratoga as an air traffic controller. Following his honorable discharge, he spent his career in the automotive industry, first as a mechanic and then as a service manager for several auto dealerships in Northeast Ohio.
In his free time, Thomas enjoyed fishing, reading Tom Clancy novels, watching (and criticizing) Cleveland's professional sports teams, and, above all, auto racing. A longtime member of the Sports Car Club of America's NEOhio chapter, he volunteered as a corner worker for races at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Nelson Ledges Race Course, and the Cleveland Grand Prix.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 53 years, Esperanza; his sons, Thomas and his wife Amy, Christopher and his wife Mary, and Brian and his wife Christy; grandchildren Justin, Kelly, Nathan, Owen, Eli, and Faith; a sister, Diane; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elden and Helen Moore.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Thomas' name be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation, (garysinisefoundation.org) which supports our nation's veterans.
