Thomas Pliska, 68, of Junction City, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday February 26, 2025. He will be missed.
He was born on July 10th, 1956, to the late John and Dorothy (Krayecki) Pliska. He was married to his wife, Theresa, for almost 45 years. Together they raised their son, John Pliska.
Tom co-owned Plover Tire and Service, then worked for the local school district and UWSP, before retiring.
His hobbies included all things outdoors, including hunting, fishing, gardening, four-wheeling on his land, and giving four-wheeler rides to his grandson around the yard. In fact, anything that involved the grandkids made his day. Tom lived for hunting camp every Fall, which had become a 35-year tradition.
Tom's favorite bible verse was "If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat." It was a verse that hung in his home growing up. He came from a family of hard workers.
Thomas is survived by his wife Theresa, son John (Tiffany), along with the grandkids Carson and Emma Pliska. Also survived by brother Anton (Marlene) Pliska, brother David Pliska, sister Helen Glodowski, and sister-in-law Carol Pliska. His is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brothers Richard and Clarence.
The family would like to thank the First Responders and Portage County Sheriff's Department for their efforts. The family would also like to thank the Pisarski Funeral Home for their care and assistance during this difficult time.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas will be held on Tuesday March 4th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Barthlomew Catholic Church, 2493 County Road M, Stevens Point. Father Packi will be officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the family.
