Catherine Pliska, age 96, of McKeesport, died at home on July 31, 2024. Born February 16, 1928, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Brnjas) Mihalic and wife of the late Peter Pliska. Catherine retired from McKeesport Hospital, where she was a Laundress. She is a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish. Catherine looked forward to breakfast at Denny's and lunch or dinner at Eat-N-Park. Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved sisters. Catherine is survived by her children, Peter (Debra) Pliska and Mary Ann Pliska; grandchildren, Peter Pliska and Timothy (Ashlee) Pliska; great-granddaughters, Bailee and Paislee; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Michael, Frank, Charles, Matthew, and Joseph, and sisters, Anne, Mary, Barbara, Rose, and Frances. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 9 a.m. until the time of blessing service at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel.
