Memorial services for Thomas Forest Rees, 75, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Congregational Church in Lufkin with Rev. Randall K. Green officiating.
Mr. Rees was born on February 9, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the late Forest Bovaird Rees and Mary Louise (Teter) Rees and went home to his Lord on Monday, June 24, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Rees worked as a pharmacist for 40 years in Lufkin and the surrounding areas. When he was not working, he would spend his time in the woods or at the lake. Mr. Rees especially loved deep sea fishing and fishing in Louisiana. One of his favorite trips was the one that he took with his sons to Lake Texoma. They had great fun and caught more fish than on all of their other trips before or since then. Mr. Rees also was involved in baseball in high school and college, and loved to watch his boys play little league.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue Anne Rees of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Stephanie Rees of Waco, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Candace Rees of Denton, TX; grandchildren, Aiden Rees, Wyatt Rees, and Emily Rees, all of Waco, TX; brother, Robert Rees of Katy, TX; and nephew, Brandon Rees of Katy, TX.
Mr. Rees was preceded in death by his parents.
