Mr. Thomas Edwin Ross, 87, of West Point, passed away on May 18, 2024, at Waverly Care Home in West Point. He was born on July 8, 1936, in Florence. Tom was known for his fun-loving nature, love for food, and mischievous pranks. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him.
Tom loved his church family and was always willing to lend a helping hand where ever needed. He loved the Lord and reading his Bible and followed James 1:22 "Don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says." He gave to those in need, and enjoyed going to the prison to encourage the inmates. He was always ready to share an encouraging word.
Tom worked at his dad's gas station and drove a cattle truck before joining the United States Department of Agriculture as a government inspector.
Tom is survived by his children, Greg Ross of West Point, daughter, Donna Buchanan (Mark) of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, son, Mike Ross (Terresa) of West Point: grandchildren, Grace Alexander (Josh) of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Jill Leonard (Jonathon) of Columbus, Stacey Blackwell (Jonathon) of Powell, Tennessee, Bailey Ross, Cole Ross, and Katie Ross, all of West Point: ten great-grandchildren, and one brother, Bennett Ross (Peggy) of Florence.
In addition to his parents, Thomas and Janie Ross, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Ross, and two sisters, Ann Stringfellow and Mamie Sue Myers.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Mark and Donna Buchanan officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Cole Ross, Bailey Ross, Jonathon Blackwell, Ben Baker, Jimmy Harris, and Zane Parker.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Former U.S.D.A. Employees at Bryan Foods and his many Church family and friends.
