Thomas Michael "Tommy" Ross, born on May 1, 1951, in Quincy, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 74. Tommy was the beloved son of the late Urban Allan Ross and Marjorie Elizabeth Ross, and one of eleven children in a close-knit family.
A proud veteran, Tommy served his country with honor as a Sergeant in the United States Army, participating in Operation Desert Storm. After retiring from military service, he dedicated over 18 years as a medical supply driver for McKesson, where his hard work and dedication were highly regarded.
Tommy cherished life's simple pleasures and found great joy in playing golf with a devoted group of 21 friends every Saturday, continuing to play until he was no longer able. An avid card player, he relished spending time with his family over games of cribbage, spades, and any card game that could gather loved ones around the table.
Raised in a Catholic family, Tommy held onto his faith quietly throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his sister Eileen Gerrity and her husband Michael Gerrity; brother-in-law John Currie, Sr.; niece Courtney Koke; and nephew Jared Monti.
He is survived by his loving siblings: sisters Janet Monti, Mary Currie, Theresa Lindsay and her husband Richard, Barbara Ross, Patricia Furtney and her husband Ken, and Lynda Ross-Koke; brothers Allan Ross and his wife Kathy, James Ross and his wife Sherri, and John Ross. Tommy leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember him fondly.
A service and rendering of military honors will be conducted at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery in South Weymouth, Massachusetts, where family and friends will gather to celebrate a life well-lived and honor his memory.
Tommy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of service, love, and quiet faith will be cherished forever. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Thomas, please visit our floral store.

I'm saddened to learn of Tommy's passing. Tom and I were best friends growing up on Century Road. I spent a lot of my youth hanging out at his house with Irv and screaming Marge (actually Marge was a wonderful woman but with 11 kids, who wouldn't scream once in a while).

Tom and I did all the stuff that kids and teenagers did. We were both in the Braintree Braves and Warrior's drum and bugle corps. Super memories.

I recall backpacking the Whites with Tom and all our friends including one trip we almost drown in the Pemi trying to cross in a rainstorm. Another foolish trip where we tried winter camping with no clue what we were doing. Glad we survived. Tom and I did my first western US ski trip to Sun Valley in our early 30's that changed how and where I love to ski.

Tom and I were separated by life, but I got a chance to see him at John Curry's wake a few years ago.

I will miss you Tom and hope I'm in Mass. when the celebration of life is held.
Be well my friend-till we meet again.
