Tom, I loved you like family and you made me feel that you felt the same. Tom would give Suzi and I the biggest hugs at every session. These weren't for everybody. Tom made us feel special. Frankie probably knew this feeling.

There is a small number of us in the club that were born the same year as Tom. The 1960 kids were Tom, Kwang-Jo, and I, as well as, Kay, Dena, and Bob Arnold. Last name included because of all the Bobs in the club.

We also saw each other outside of the club a few times. The first time was quite unexpected. Just a few months after joining the club, I ran into Tom and was introduced to Sam for the first time. We were at the Hult Center for the Ace awards. (A Champion in Education) It was a long time ago, but I think Sam won? Agnes Stewart??? My wife was nominated at Mount Vernon Elementary that same year.

Not too long after that the Keefer Center started to bump us on our Saturday schedule for Volleyball or Basketball. On one of those Saturdays, Tom asked if Kevin and I would join him and Kwang-Jo at Court Sports where they had a table. We would play too many matches to count. Tom and Kwang-Jo were the number one doubles team in the club at the time, so this was quite an honor to be invited. Let alone play against them.
It was even worse when we switched partners and Tom was on my team. I was so nervous that I couldn't hit anything. I felt bad for Tom but he put up with me until being in his presence wasn't so overwhelming for me.

Tom, you were more than you know to a whole bunch of people. I am very sorry we didn't get more time.

I can not say what my heart feels at Tom's passing. He was a warm and honerable person; so I know he is on the upper road, the one that still holds the sun.

I am at a dificulty to say what my heart feels at Tom's passing. He was a honerable and warm person: so I know he is on the high road; the one which still holds the sun.

For 15 years I played with Tom at the Blazing Paddles ping pong Club.
He was so kind and caring and I consider him a true friend. It is a shock and great loss and my deepest condolences to Sam and his family.

Heartfelt sympathy to the family of Tom. I played with and against Tom in table tennis for many years and always admired his passion for the game. I will truly miss him.

When I first started playing with Blazing Paddles group, I teamed up with Tom in a doubles match. On several occasions, Tom would "coach" me to stay out on his way as he moved about to return shots. Tom was not small in stature and moved around like a linebacker. You did not want to get in his way. He always made me pick my game when we played because I wanted to compete and play at his level. He will be sorely missed in the table tennis community.
