Thomas Andrew "Tom" Saunders

Thomas (Tom) Andrew Saunders of Blue Springs, MO passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 84 at Kansas City Hospice House surrounded by family. Funeral/Memorial services will be held on October 27, 2025, at Norfleet Baptist Church located at 5512 S. Norfleet Rd. Kansas City, Mo. The Visitation will be from 9:30-11am followed by the Service.

Thomas was born on February 12, 1941, in Ziegler, Illinois. The son of Robert and Gladys Saunders. He was born and raised in the small town of Ziegler, Illinois and was most proud of the fact that he represented his small school at the state track-meet. He attended SIU in Carbondale where he met his sweetheart, Sharon. After college he started a career that he loved as a Dental Technician. He and Sharon were married in April of 1963 and were married for over 62 years. Many friends and family were blessed with his stain glass creations including one of the churches that he attended. He found joy in spending time with his family and friends, making people laugh, watching Chiefs football, dessert, especially his wife's chocolate pie and serving his Savior and local church. He and his smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tom was preceded in death by His parents Robert and Gladys (Saint). Brother Robert and sister-in-law Carolyn Saunders; And brother-in-law Albert Pyszka.

His survivors include his wife, Sharon Saunders; His children Kimberly Logan and Todd (wife Maureen) Saunders; his sisters Sylvia Pyszka and Gayla (husband Mike) Eberhart; His 5 grandchildren Travis, McKenna (husband Chad) Williams, Jacob (wife Jessica) Logan, Mariel (husband Ryan) Stricklan, & Caleb (wife Kimberly) Logan; His 12 great-grandchildren Caden, Gideon, Zachary, Spencer, Anaiah, Emerson, Kassidy, Kinsley, Asher, Keziah, Parker, and Benjamin. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews that loved him.
