Thomas Benjamin Schafsnitz, aged 78, of Reese, Michigan, passed on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro, Michigan. Born on Christmas Eve in 1946 in Saginaw, Michigan, Tom was the son of the late Rudolph "Rudy" and Anita (Kreiger) Schafsnitz.

Together, they raised their two children.
For three decades, Tom was a dedicated employee at Saginaw Steering Gear until his retirement. His commitment to his work was only surpassed by his devotion to his family and his love for the great outdoors. An avid outdoorsman, Tom took every opportunity to go hunting and ice fishing. He also loved traveling across Michigan and the western United States. In retirement, Tom found pleasure in working on his sister's farm
Tom's legacy lives on through his loving wife of 57 years, Sandra, and his children, Tammy Sue Schafsnitz and Thomas Benjamin Schafsnitz Jr. He was a proud grandfather to Nick, Elizabeth, Jack, and Aleigh.
