Thomas S. Scott, 67 of Islandia, NY, passed away unexpectedly on January 10th, 2026.

He will be remembered as a caring father, brother, uncle, godfather and as a loyal friend and mentor

Tom was born in Bronx, NY, and graduated from Bethpage High school. During his time, he served his community as a 27 year life member and ex captain of the Central Islip Fire Department, where he made countless friendships and devoted much of his time. He was also a past member of the Hicksville Fire Department.

He is predeceased by his parents, Gertrude and Frank Scott, Step mother Lucille, Half brother George Arndt (Linda) and Half brother Michael Arndt (Lynn)

He is survived by son Thomas C (Jennifer) He is also survived by his sister Shelia Frei (Bernhard) and by his brother Robert (Darby), along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends may Visit on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 from 5pm to 9pm and on Thursday, January 15th 2016 from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm. Fire Department services on Thursday January 15th at 7:30pm at Moloney’s Funeral home at 130 Carleton Ave Central Islip, N.Y. 11722. His Mass will be held on Friday, January 16th 2026 at 9:15 am at St. John of God R.C. Church at 84 Carleton Ave Central Islip N.Y. 11722. Burial to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Cemetery in Farmingdale NY.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Firefighter Cancer and Mentoring of New York State.
