Published by Legacy on Aug. 1, 2024.
Thomas E. Seitter, age 71, entered the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
On November 10, 1952 Tom was born in Marion, OH the son of the late Carl F. and Evelyn L. (Miley) Seitter. Tom attended Buckeye Valley and graduated with the class of 1971. After high school, Tom went on to graduate from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy. On August 15, 1981 in Ashley, OH Tom married his soulmate, Linda (Corwin) Seitter. The loving couple were able to spend 43 marvelous years together.
Tom dedicated 21 years serving as a board member for Central Ohio Farmer's Co-op and was also on the Morral Board. In addition, Tom also dedicated nine years of his life to serving as the Marion County Supervisor for Soil and Water Conservation, along with the Waldo Zoning Commission. His commitment to public service and the betterment of his community was a testament to his character and dedication.
Tom, a dedicated fourth-generation farmer whose love for the land and his family was evident in every furrow he plowed and seed he planted. Tom's passion for farming was not just a profession but a way of life. He found immense joy in the simplicity and hard work that farming demanded, and his fields were a testament to his unwavering dedication. However, his greatest joy came from sharing this love with his grandchildren. Together, they spent countless hours in the fields, learning, laughing, and creating memories that would last a lifetime; especially enjoying combine rides together during harvest season.
In addition to his own farming, Tom had a heart full of generosity and kindness. He devotedly helped an elderly woman in the community tend to her land, ensuring that her farm continued to thrive. His selfless acts of kindness touched many lives and demonstrated his belief in the importance of community and helping others.
When Tom was not in the fields, you could find him intently watching The Ohio State Buckeyes Football and Basketball games, but there were not any games greater to watch than his children's and grandchildren's sports and activities. Tom cheered them on with the same enthusiasm and pride he brought to his farming.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Linda Seitter; children: Megan(Matthew) Boes and Lindsay (Joshua) Ladd; grandchildren: Jackson Boes, Aubrey Boes, Eden Boes, Gabriel Ladd, and David Ladd; sisters: Kathy Haegele and Karen Kurkcu; and numerous nieces and nephews.
