Tom Sheffel, 68, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.
He was born at John Little's Creek to the late Fern Readout Sheffel and Wayne Sheffel. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Mark Sheffel and a sister, Dolores Neace.
Tom graduated from Breathitt High School in 1973 and Lees College in 1975. He was a retired banker and enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing, gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Emmanuel Fellowship Church at Big Rock.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Henrietta Colvin Sheffel; sons, Joshua Sheffel (Nicholas), Jeremy Sheffel (Amanda); daughter, Sarah Knudsen (Jonathan); brothers, Dave Sheffel, Don Sheffel, Paul Sheffel, Phillip Sheffel, Alan Sheffel, Mike Sheffel, Eric Sheffel; sisters, Susie Geiger, Becky Mulroy, Vicki Sheffel, Melody Sheffel and grandchildren, Joseph, Micah, Michael, Aaron, Marcus, Andrew and Ethan.
Visitation for Tom will be Friday, August, 23, 5:00 - 8:00 PM and his funeral service will be Saturday, August 24, 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Mark Driskill officiating.
A private burial will follow in the Sheffel Family Cemetery.

I have fond memories from when Tom and Henrietta lived below us at Sulfur Gap. He always tried to entertain us as kids. Will be missed by all that knew him.
