Reverend Thomas Sieg
Father Thomas Hyde Sieg entered eternal life on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the age of 79.
Father Sieg was born on September 28, 1945, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Stanley Ben Sieg, Jr. and Mary Janet (Hyde) Sieg.
He is preceded in death by his parents and many aunts and uncles, and other relatives.
Thomas is survived by his sisters, Mary Pearson and her husband, Dennis, and Margaret McDonnell and her husband, Timothy; his nieces, Jennifer Cherrier and her husband, Tom, and Ann Toenies and her husband, Roger; his nephew, Brian Pearson, also by his great-nieces and great-nephews; many other relatives and dear friends.
Father Sieg was ordained a Catholic Priest on May 22, 1971. While in active ministry, he served as Pastor of Presentation Parish in Maplewood, Risen Savior Parish in Burnsville, St. Patrick Parish in Edina, and St. Michael Parish in Prior Lake. Immediately after his ordination, he served as Associate Pastor of Holy Spirit Parish in Saint Paul and St. Peter Parish in North Saint Paul. For several years, he was appointed Associate Professor of Sacramental Theology in Homiletics at the Saint Paul Seminary of Divinity.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025, beginning at 4:00 PM, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 16311 Duluth Ave SE, Prior Lake. LIVE-STREAM available at: https://www.youtube.com/@StMichaelPL
Visitation will be held at the church two hours prior to Mass (beginning at 2:00 PM).
A reception will follow Mass.
Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery 2101 Lexington Avenue S - Mendota Heights. Please meet at the cemetery, committal service will begin at 1:00 PM, arrive by 12:45 PM.
Memorials are preferred to St. Michael Catholic Church or St. Michael Catholic School of Prior Lake.

MY wife CHERYL , & DAVID , remember FR. at MARY MOTHEROF THE CHURCH , BURNSVILLE a few years back , he was filling in for FR, TIM , an FR. had recently , had some surgery done , an I had asked after mass , what he had done to him , an he said in reply , got a LOBOTOMY done on me , an said with a chuckle , NO I just had a skin tumor removed , WAS glad to see FR. as we were just revisiting the church , an DEACON PAUL

I was deeply saddened to learn that Fr. Sieg passed away. My family all loved him when he was pastor of St. Patrick's in Edina, MN. Our friendship continued throughout the years. Father was truly a Priests' Priest. RIP. Marietta Munster and Family
