Thomas S Silvi

Thomas S.Silvi, 81, 0f Thornhurst, Pa. died peacefully on Friday, December 20,2024 at
Scranton Health Care Center, Scranton, PA.
Born in Plains, Pa. he was the husband of Carol A. (Scavone) Silvi, who also died on December
20, 2020. Tom and Carol were married for 50 wonderful years, lovingly devoted to one another.
Tom graduated from Sacred Heart High School and attended college with a degree in business.
He was employed for several years at Inter-Metro as a welder, and upon retirement worked for
the Colona family,whom he admired greatly,owners of the Sunshine Market, Wilkes-Barre.
Tom was a devout Catholic, member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, Thornhurst,Pa
He was a soft spoken gentleman, with kind, mannerly words, always with a smile and a few
jokes along the way.
He will be greatly missed by his brother-in -law and sister-in-law,John and Elizabeth (Liz)
Strasburger, who were with him on his peaceful journey to heaven joining his wife Carol.
He's Godchild Carolyn, who visited him often, Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Carol, he was preceded in death by his sister Barbara, father and mother
Joseph and Anna Silvi.
John and Liz would especially like to thank the Staff (too numerous to mention all )at Scranton
Health Care Center, for their kind, compassion, caring love, given to Tom in his stay there.
Also Serenity Hospice for their comfort in Tom's final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am in St. Mark's / St. Elizabeth Church, on
Thursday,January 2, 2025.
Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Mark// St. Elizabeth Church, Scranton Health Care
Center, Serenity Hospice, or of the donors choice.
Arrangements Have been entrusted to Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St. Plains, Pa.
Interment St. Francis Cemetery, Plains Twp. PA.
