It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Jones, 78 of Pittston, Pennsylvania on August 20, 2025. Karen was born on August 18th, 1947 in Kingston to Thomas and Elizabeth Whitehouse. Karen was beloved sister to Linda and Barb where they will greet her with open arms in heaven. She was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1965. Karen was a beautician and owned Policares Hair Salon for over 20 years in the Gateway Shopping Center and most recently managed Creations Hair Salon in Plains. Her devoted clients were with her for many years. Karen and Bob made many memories and enjoyed spending time at their condo in Myrtle Beach. Karen worshiped the sun and loved the beach and was often seen reading a good book on the beach. She was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan and on Sunday she would sit on the couch with her Steelers scarf on and her precious dog Beau right by her side. To know Karen was to love her. She was a kind soul and often said 'those who wander are not lost.' She is survived by her devoted fiancé, Robert Slomovitz and second family, Joseph, Jackie, Jordyn and Patch Ruane, son Kip Jones, daughter Michelle and her husband Marcus Slovacek, grandsons, Zachary Jones and Travis Slovacek, granddaughter, Elizabeth Sperrazza and her husband Leo, precious great grandchildren Liliana and Olivia Rose. The family would like to thank Geisinger Wyoming Valley for such good and compassionate care. The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation on Monday, August 25, from 5 to 7 PM at Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains, PA 18705.
