Mr. Thomas C.C. Simmons passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024 in Texas.
Thomas was born January 11, 1949 to the late Robert Simmons and Rosie Baker of Columbia, Missouri. He attended Columbia Public Schools. He enlisted into the United States Army his senior year of high school. He was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Columbia, Missouri. Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and had several fishing buddies. He loved dogs and he was always smiling. He served two terms in the Vietnam War. Upon being injured in the war he received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Royal Deuces.
Survivors include: wife, Yvonne Simmons; children, Duane Simmons, Candace Jones, Marcus Jordan, Cassandra Collins, Donna Simmons, Monica Simmons and Ryan (Stephanie) Simmons; brother, Paul (Connie) Simmons; twenty one grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by: both of his parents, Robert and Rosie Simmons; son, Thomas; brothers, Robert, Freddie, Dennis, and David; sister, Marie; granddaughters, Uniqua and Masherra.
Friends will be received from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Parker-Millard Funeral Service & Crematory. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, April 26, 2024 at Parker-Millard Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. James Gray officiating. A burial with full military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
