Thomas Stacy Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 8, 2025.
Thomas (Skip) William Stacy, 86 years old, died September 29, 2025.
He lived with Parkinson's and vascular dementia with grace and dignity never losing his sense of gratitude and humor. He started each day by saying, "What a lovely day!"
Tom lived in south Minneapolis where he was active in his community, then in retirement at 7500 York.
Preceded in death by parents, Truman and Hazel Stacy, brother John and nephew Gregory Rice.
He graduated (proudly) from Roosevelt HS, class of 1957 and the U of Minnesota Dental School, 1964. He practiced dentistry in south Minneapolis and later at U of M dental school as an adjunct professor.
Married for 61 years to the love of his life, Bette (Lawrence) Stacy, they had three children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren: Sara Michel (Matt); Caitlin (Chris Leivermann, Brooks and Tate), Claire and Grace; Steve (Wendy), David and Lizzy; Mary Joing (Todd), Ellie, Andrew, Luke.
He leaves behind many loving extended family members and dear friends.
Tom was an active member at Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church in leadership and service roles and especially loved singing in the choir. His early years were spent coaching a variety of sports for his children's teams and in later years happily going to their many games, plays and concerts.
His joys in life were his faith, his beloved family, being at the cabin, sailing, tennis, golfing, good friends and being a lifelong Gopher fan.
Special thanks to the staff at Creekside Adult Day Club where he spent many content days.
