Thomas "Tom" John Steenland a resident of Saint Albans for the past 13 years passed away unexpectedly, Monday, September 22, 2025 at the age of 63.

Born in Morristown, New Jersey on November 21, 1961, he was the son of the late John and Elaine (Jorgensen) Steenland.

Tom was a graduate of Lyndon Institute and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Stump. Tom worked many years as an engineer for various companies, before working the past 13 years as an associate of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.

He enjoyed spending time in his workshop, where he did a lot of wood working and tinkering. Tom loved to fish, go camping, spend time with his family, and he especially enjoyed watching Startrek with his sons. Tom was also able to see many parts of the world while he served in the Navy.

Tom is survived by his fiancé of 13 years, Brandi Lumbra, of Saint Albans, his 2 sons, Ryan Steenland, of Burlington, and Erik Steenland, of Colchester, and 2 daughters, Kaylee Larose, of Saint Albans, and Kianna Larose, of Saint Albans, and her 2 children, Addilyn and Weston.

Military honors for the Navy Veteran will be held this Sunday, October 5th at 1:00PM followed by visitation from 1:00-3:00PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
