Thomas Tacheny Obituary
Age 70, of Maplewood, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family on February 6, 2025. Preceded in death by his parents Richard and Patsy Tacheny; brother Edward; infant sister; and his loyal companions Boris, Sadie and Maggi. Survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Liz; children Matthew (Jennifer), Molly Greifzu, Meghan (Josh) Degneau; grandchildren Clara, Dylan, Adalyn, Thomas and Georgia; sister Gloria Kealy; sister-in-law Theresa Tacheny; and many other loving relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM, March 20th, at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 6133 15th St. No., Oakdale. Visitation at Oakwood, 2585 Stillwater Rd, Maplewood, from 4 to 7 PM on March 19th, and at church one hour prior to Mass. Burial Union Cemetery. A special thank you to Dr. Steven McCormack and his team, Alison and Kaitlin; the Infusion Center nurses at Regions Hospital; and the Health Partners Hospice team, Sam and Jessie. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Bil Gangl Memorial Fund in care of Regions Hospital Foundation.
A reception will follow the burial at The Dog House in Maplewood.

Well, Tom, Liz and I are on our Arizona experience and so far we have kept out of trouble. But we still have a few more days to break some more rules. I know you are watching and laughing at us ! We miss you and that twinkle in your eye. Happy heavenly birthday!

Condolences to the Tachney family, our thoughts and prayers are with you! I have very vivid and fond memories of Tom, Liz, and the amazing kids (MMM) they raised; they were an absolute delight! Mondays during football season we spent hours in the garage with Tom, Pat, and various other friends having a great time with "interesting conversations"! I always admired Tom and his wonderful gentle personality; Tom never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Rest in peace my friend; you will be missed!!!!!

I will always remember Tom as the most compassionate person. His kindness and love to others was like no other. No matter what you needed Tom never asked a question he just did it. May his kind and loving soul rest in peace.
