Thomas Wesley Thompson, age 83 of Kettering, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025 at Kettering Health Main Campus. He was born December 17, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late Carl Thompson and Myrtle Dishman. Thomas graduated from Fairmont West High School. He had a long career as a florist and was a large part of the floral industry. Thomas owned and operated several local businesses such as, Thomas the Florist, and Silk Garden. Throughout his career as a florist Thomas traveled the world helping homes and businesses with floral designs. He was quite the artist and had a gift for home design where he could make a small space beautiful without it feeling cluttered. His family has fond memories of him always changing and redecorating his apartment. Thomas loved his family and he cherished the time he spent with his siblings and his nieces and nephews. He was a kindhearted, and creative person who had a way of making people feel valuable and gifted. Thomas will be deeply missed.
Thomas is survived by his sisters, Jean (Jack) Miller, and Beverly Hills; nephews, Raymond (April) Carpenter, Reck (Krista) Carpenter, and Randy (Sandi) Miller; nieces, Madonna (Mike) Waymire, Kristina Eiting, and Jennifer (Jeff) Blair; and by numerous other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, John (survived by Carol) Thompson, sister, Viola Ingles, and niece, Angelieck Green.
Friends and family will gather Friday, October 10, from 12:00PM to 1:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home - Kettering. Afterwards Thomas will be laid to rest at David's Cemetery in Kettering, OH. To share a memory of Thomas or leave a special message for his family, please visit the Guestbook below.
