Thomas Edward Tolan, 66, formerly of Park Ridge and Libertyville, Illinois, fell asleep in the Lord on August 22, 2025. Tom was born on September 11, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late
Edward and Mary Tolan. Beloved brother of Paula, William, his dear twin, Diana (Panayiotis), and Stephen (Mary). Cherished uncle of Demetra (Alexandros), James, Veronica (Blake),
Stephen (Kelly), Alexander and Nicholas (Alexis). Cherished granduncle of Blaine and Brooke. Tom loved his animals, Goober, Melody, Hugo and Putter. He was a faithful Greek Orthodox Christian. The family expresses gratitude to the staff at The Citadel of Glenview for the compassionate care Tom received from them over the last three years. The family is also grateful to his dear and devoted friends, Ron Herbes, Maureen Patouhas, Dee Christ and David Rutkowski, who visited him frequently and assisted him greatly. Special thanks also to the Philoptochos of Ascension of Our
Lord Greek Orthodox Church whose members aided and supported Tom for many years. Father Sotirios Malamis continually supported and provided spiritual guidance to Tom over the years,
and the family is eternally grateful to Father Sotirios. The parish of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville also generously assisted Tom. Tom was truly blessed to have the support
of these wonderful people and so many others who helped him with his disabilities. Visitation Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Ascension of Our Lord Greek Orthodox Church, 1207
Riverwoods Road, Lincolnshire, Illinois 60069 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral service at 12:00 P.M. Interment following at Fairview Memorial Park, 900 N. Wolf Road,
Northlake, Illinois 60164. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcome to Ascension of Our Lord Greek Orthodox Church. The funeral service will also be live-streamed at
