Thomas "Tom" E. Moore, age 82, of Brookfield, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, at his home. He was born on June 13, 1942, in Auburn, New York, to Albert and Donna (Moody) Moore. Tom proudly served in the United States Navy, enlisting after college and serving abroad before volunteering his service in the Vietnam War. He continued his service additional 20 years in the United States Navy Reserves, where he retired as Captain. He was also a longtime member of the Navy Reservist Association. On November 9,1968, Tom married his devoted wife, Karen (nee Totten) Moore, in Rochester, New York. He earned an undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and a master’s degree from University of New York at Buffalo. Tom grew up in a golfing family and had a life-long love of the game. He was a 30-year member of Merrill Hills Country Club, where he served as President from 1992 to 1993. After 30 years of dedication, Tom retired as President of Copesan Services. Tom was very generous- especially with his family. So many of the family's memorable moments together are a product of his generosity of time and spirit. He was a true Irish-American, and was quick to remind you on St. Patrick’s Day.
Tom will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Karen; daughter Kristin (and late husband Ken) Christinson; son Don (and wife Jessica Gonzalez-Moore); granddaughter Olivia; and many other relatives and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers James and David Moore, and his sister Christine Filiberti.
A gathering in Tom’s memory is planned for 2025.
