Thomas “Tom” Perry, age 82, of Jackson, passed away early Monday, December 1, 2025, at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born June 28, 1943, in Detroit Michigan to the late Walter and Elaine (Walker) Perry.
Tom is survived by his wife of 62 years Marsha (Loney) Perry; two sons, John (Beth) Perry, of Jackson, and Todd (Dorota) Perry, of San Diego, California; four grandaughters, Kendra and Courtney Perry, Zuza and Ela Perry; brothers-in-law, Craig (Donna) Loney, Kevin Clark, and Chris (Gina) Clark. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Tom attended Rio Grande and met the love of his life, Marsha in 1961. While at Rio Grande, he played baseball and was a member of the Archon Fraternity. Tom and Marsha married in 1964 at the Presbyterian church in Jackson and soon after had two wonderful boys. Together, Tom and Marsha both became teachers. Tom taught both Government and History. He later became a counselor at Jackson High School. He coached junior high football throughout the years, and then was an assistant varsity football coach in the late 1960’s. He also coached alongside Dick Haller in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Tom was also a lifetime member of the Jackson Elks Lodge #466. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 2-4 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson. An Elks service will conclude the calling hours officiated by the Elks Lodge #466. Memorial services will immediately follow at 4:00 PM with Rev. Janie Karl officiating. Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite Ohio State Attire.
