Thomas Daryl Toole

Thomas Daryl Toole, 74, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Baptist East Palliative Care in Louisville. He was born on November 5, 1948, in Evansville, Indiana to Kenneth S. and Leota Murphy Toole. He was a graduate of Westport High School and Morehead State University with a Masters in Plant Pathology and a Ph. D in Plant Pathology and Forestry from Bircham University. He also studied at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio.
Tom was able to incorporate his love of nature and his faith in God into his professions. He was a State Park Naturalist at Pine Mountain State Park, started his own landscaping and design business and was a Hospice Chaplin. After retirement, Tom volunteered with ASRIK – a group that uses Bible study and horses to help heal wounded veterans, called Wounded Warriors. God gave him the gift of compassion and a quiet strength to help others. Tom loved the outdoors, hiking, fly fishing, and boating. His horses and dogs were loved and brought him great joy.
Tom and his wife, Pamela Ball Toole, lived in Middlesboro, Kentucky until her death in October 2021. He recently relocated to Crestwood, Kentucky to be near family and his doctors. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Leota Toole and his wife, Pamela Toole. He is survived by his sister, Karen Sims, his nieces, Emilee Morgan (Jason), Susan Olson (Chelsey), Allison Siddens (Tyler), and great nieces, Madison and Camryn Morgan, and great nephews, Connor and Turner Siddens, and many cousins. Tom's love for the Lord inspired a life well lived.
A memorial service will be held to honor Tom's life on Saturday, April 29, at 11:00 am at Covenant Church, 909 West Jefferson Street, LaGrange, KY 40031. After a light lunch for all who attend, there will be a private family burial at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville.
Visitation will be held 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, prior to the service at the church.
