Richard Vickery, age 80, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.
He was born on June 23, 1943, in Obion, Tennessee, to his parents John and Mary Louise Vickery. As a teenager he lived in Newbern, Tennessee. For work, Richard was a truck driver for 30 years. He married Angelene Sentell on March 11, 1974. They raised their several children together, and used to enjoy camping trips. Richard was a great father, who led his family as a Christian man, and hard worker. He was also a missionary in Honduras, and was associated with Hearts and Hands for Honduras Ministries, for 20 years.
Thomas Richard Vickery is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Angelene Sentell Vickery; children, J. Marlene Bates (Danny Bates), Joe Michael Capps, Thomas Vickery, Rita Gayle Vickery, Gary Allen Vickery, and Vicky Morris (Sammy Morris); grandchildren, Amy Summers (Mickey Summers), D.J. Bates (Jessica Bates), Christina Lopez, Ashley Bermudez, Little John McCloud, Brandy Edwards (Anthony Edwards), Heather Langston (John Langston), Jackie Kent, Vince Teets, Todd Teets, and Anita Kemp; 26 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Harl Vickery; mother, Mary Louise (Bell) Vickery; son, William Ray Capps; daughter, Angela Renea Teets; grandson, Logan Lynn Vickery, and sisters, Mary Ann Lee, and Betty Ann Terry.
Visitation with the Vickery family will be between 10:00 A.M., until 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, October 21.
The funeral services will be conducted at Crestview Funeral Home, on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 2:00 P.M., with Bro. Phil Wilson, and Bro. Don Key officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Crestview Memory Gardens. Those serving as pall bearers will be Mickey Summers, Jackie Leath, Covy France, Bob Gephart, Terry Towe, and Maurice Driver.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the organization Hearts and Hands for Honduras Ministries; an organization very dear to Mr. Vickery’s heart. Donations may be mailed to:
