Thomas was born April 13, 1945 in Cadence, Kentucky to the late Thomas Sr. and Florence Wadlington. He went to be with his heavenly father on September 7, 2025.

Thomas worked over 15 years for Belknap Hardware & Manufacturing Company. Later, he started his own business as a master auto mechanic and owned his own body shop and tow service.
