Thomas John Waganfeald, of Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 16, 2023 in his home. He was born August 21, 1935 in Harborview, OH, to Thomas E. and Elsie (Black) Waganfeald.
Tom was a graduate of Burnham High School and was employed by Chrysler Motors – Jeep Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the UAW. His passion was country music, playing base guitar and keyboard, entertaining many at school dances, nightclubs and weddings on weekends with his band, John Hall and the Alligators. He enjoyed going to garage sales, yardwork, and tinkering with gadgets. He loved collecting die cast cars and eagles. Tom was a real people-person. He was a big-time prankster and loved bantering and joking with everyone.
Tom is survived by his five daughters, Tina (Kim) Blankley, Jenny Whitfield, Tammy Bristol, Amy Waganfeald, and Tracy (Don) Fox; and son, Jeff (Karen) Waganfeald; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and sister, Elsie Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack, Albert and David Waganfeald.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Monday, February 20, from 2:00-7:00 p.m., where Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 21, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
Those wishing to give a memorial are asked to consider a donation to Ohio Living Hospice. Online condolences may be offered at www.reebfuneralhome.com
