Thomas “Tom” Edward Wainman, departed from this world on June 9, 2024, in Hermitage, TN, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and unwavering faith. Born on November 5, 1942, in Ann Arbor, MI. 

Preceded in death by his mother Natalie Phillips Wainman, father Wilton Leroy (Tod) Wainman, and sister Kathy Wainman Pratt.

Survived by loving wife of almost 58 years Marcia Taylor Wainman; daughter Christine (Scott) Armes of Murfreesboro; son Todd (Melissa) Wainman of NC; sister Patricia Wainman, Kalkaska, MI; sister-in-law Dianne Evans, Greenbrier; grandchildren Donielle(Trenton) Wright; Arrington; Liane Armes, Murfreesboro; Timothy Wainman of NC; Asher Wainman of NC; great-granddaughter Penelope Kate Wright, Arrington; nephew Joshua Evans, Springfield; niece Carrie (Hank) Campbell, Bowling Green, KY, great nephew Miles Campbell, Bowling Green; great niece Scout Campbell, Bowling Green as well as numerous friends and loved ones. 
 
 Tom's career was a testament to his strong work ethic and passion for craftsmanship. Having retired from the Ford Motor Company after dedicating 30 years as an industrial electrician, he then further shared his expertise at Auto Zone for another 15 years. His skills were not only limited to the professional realm; he was an active member of Woodmont Baptist Church and utilized his talents to create beautiful pulpit and sanctuary furniture. Tom's hands were truly gifted as he could fix anything - from cars to wiring his parents' cottage up north.
 
 Beyond his professional and creative pursuits, Tom found joy in serving his community and church. As a Marine who served in the United States Marine Corps, he embodied principles of honor and duty throughout his life. Tom's involvement as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Trenton, MI, and dedication to the bus ministry showcased his selfless nature and desire to make a meaningful impact on those around him.
 
 In his leisure time, Tom enjoyed engaging in trivia challenges where he often emerged as the master due to his vast knowledge and love for learning. An avid reader with a thirst for knowledge, he enriched those around him with insightful conversations and shared wisdom.
 
 Tom's sense of humor and kind spirit endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He often joked that he would be working on buses in Heaven, a fitting image of his unwavering dedication to helping others.

 Visitation will be Monday, June 17, 2024 from 10:00am ~ 11:00am with a Celebration of Life at 11:00am at Woodmont Baptist Church 2100 Woodmont Blvd. Nashville, TN. Following the 12:00 lunch a procession will take place for the burial at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00pm 7931 McCrory Ln, Nashville, TN 37221. 

 In lieu of flowers charitable donations can be made in Tom’s name to Tennessee Baptist Adults Homes.
