Thomas Walz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cantelmi Long Funeral Home - Bethlehem on Dec. 20, 2025.
Thomas L. Walz, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and respected community member, peacefully passed away at the age of 94 on December 16, 2025, at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA. Born on November 30, 1931, in Bethlehem, PA, Thomas was a man of integrity, strength, and kindness, whose legacy will be cherished by all who knew him.
Thomas' journey began as the son of the late Warren W. Walz and Beatrice S. (Lorish) Walz. His sister, Isabel S. Adams, predeceased him. After graduating from high school, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the Wisconsin. This period in his life instilled in him a sense of discipline and commitment.
In 1955, Thomas married the love of his life, Nancy J. (Ziegenfuss) Walz. Their union was blessed with two devoted children, Keith Walz, and his wife Kimberly of Etters, PA, and Sharon Walz, and her spouse Perri of Lawrenceville, GA. The joy Thomas found in being a family man was magnified with the arrival of his grandchildren, Allison Walz and Brian Walz.
Thomas' professional life was marked by his role as a supervisor at ATT, formerly Western Electric, where he was known for his work ethic and leadership. His colleagues respected him for his fairness and his ability to inspire those around him to achieve their best. At work Tom was known as the "silver fox".
Beyond his work, Thomas was deeply involved in his community. He was a dedicated member of the H. Stanley Goodwin Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Shrine in Reading, where he forged lifelong friendships and contributed to various charitable endeavors. His faith was also a cornerstone of his life as he was a long-time member of East Hills Moravian Church in Bethlehem.
Thomas' life was filled with adventure. As an avid outdoorsman and nature lover, Tom spent much time bird watching, hunting, trout fishing and traveling the country with Nancy in their RV.
