Thomas "Tom" Wells, age 72 of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, surrounded by the family he cherished. Born on October 7, 1953, in Fort Knox, Kentucky, Tom was the son of the late Joseph and Leila (White) Wells. He grew up with a strong work ethic and a deep love for people. He graduated from Jeffersonville High School and later enjoying a long and dedicated career as a manager with Waste Management. Tom approached every task with integrity and pride, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike.
On June 2, 1974, Tom married the love of his life, Patty. For 51 years, they built a life filled with laughter, unwavering commitment, and countless cherished memories. Their love was a quiet example of devotion-steady, gentle, and enduring. Tom was preceded in death by his beloved son, Thomas Johnathan Wells, whom he missed dearly and carried in his heart every day.
Tom leaves behind a family who adored him and will forever treasure his memory: his loving wife, Patty Wells; his grandchildren, Axel and Ashlyn Wells, who brought endless joy and purpose to his life; his sister, Paula (Don) Briner; his in-laws, Shirley & David Warren and John Austin; great-niece Allyah Farnsley; great-nephew Andrew Farnsley; and great-great nephew, Kayson Farnsley. Tom also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss his humor, warmth, and steadfast kindness.
Tom loved simple things-time spent with family, good conversation, and making others feel cared for. He will be remembered as a man who listened more than he spoke, who worked hard without asking for praise, and who loved deeply without hesitation. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Scott Funeral Home (2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville), officiated by David Guernsey. Entombment will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from Noon–7 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2025 and after 9 AM Monday at the funeral home.
