Thuan A. Nguyen

Thuan Nguyen (Sept 15, 1966 – July 27, 2024)
Thuan Nguyen passed away unexpectedly during his daily prayers, of natural causes. Thuan was born in Vietnam and spent his childhood there during the war and post-war years. Born with severe cerebral palsy, Thuan had a difficult life, even after moving to the US to join his sister, Anh in Los Angeles and, later, as a resident of the CP of Rochester group home and care facility in Perinton. The challenges Thuan faced would have made many bitter and angry. Thuan, however, took solace in his faith; he was a warm, gentle, kind, and pious man who loved to laugh and to spend time with family and friends. Thuan particularly enjoyed the arts, participating in plays as well as attending them, and creating art for his family. He also loved to see new places, to try new foods, enjoy new experiences, and to meet new people through the Lifetime Assistance day program, in which he was an enthusiastic participant.
Thuan was preceded in death by his mother Quoc Nguyen and his father; he is survived by his siblings, Anh (Nguyen) Karam, Hai Nguyen, John and Maria Nguyen, his nephew Sang and niece Tam Nguyen and their children, and his other nieces and nephews Angela Nguyen, Teresa Nguyen, and Alexander Karam.
The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 1 at 11 AM at St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (4100 Lyell Rd); the burial will take place at 1:00 PM at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (2461 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY 14612).
