Tia Gail Mitchell
May 18, 1984 – August 6, 2025
With broken hearts, we share the unexpected passing of our beloved Tia Gail Mitchell on August 6, 2025. Born May 18, 1984, in New Jersey to Barbara Hubbard and Bruce Mitchell, Tia lived her life with a light that could not be dimmed. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, loved, and seen. To know Tia was to love her. Her laughter was contagious, her smile unforgettable, and her spirit impossible to forget.
Tia is survived by her partner Francesca, with whom she shared love and many special moments in life. She is also cherished and remembered always by her parents Barbara Hubbard and Bruce Mitchell, her sister Kiana, her brother Tracy(Holly), her precious niece Willow, and her grandmother Dolores. Her love extended to her aunts Lillian Jackson, Linda Mitchell, Gail Barnes, Uncle Solomon "Rick"(Carolyn), and many cousins, and countless friends who became family.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 5:30 PM at Mountcastle Turch Life Celebration Home, 4143 Dale Blvd, Dale City, VA. Funeral services will follow on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Lakeridge Baptist Church, 12450 Clipper Drive, Lakeridge, VA.
Though our time with her was far too short, Tia's love, laughter, and radiant spirit will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, partner, and friend, but most of all, she was a shining light whose presence made this world a better place.
