Funeral services for Tillie Bell Timmons, 94, of Houston, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 28, 2025, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Barry Gee officiating. Interment will follow immediately after in the Blum Cemetery, Blum, Texas. There will be a time prior to the chapel services for family and friends to gather for fellowship at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00-2:00 PM.
Tillie Bell Timmons passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in Houston, Texas. She was born on November 21, 1930, in Cleburne, Texas. Tillie was of the Baptist faith. She married Johnnie Frank Timmons in December of 1950 in Cleburne, Texas. They were married 69 years at the time of his death in 2019. She has been described as being the “Matriarch of the Family”, always taking care of everyone and having an ear to listen with a shoulder to lean on as well. Her family was the center of all she did and who she was. Everyone was drawn to her, even strangers. Her advice and words of wisdom, with encouragement, were taken to heart. She was truly a guiding light to those who were fortunate enough to know her and be blessed with her gift of empathy. Tillie was small, but fierce in her dedication to those she loved. She never complained or criticized. Tillie was self-reliant and hardworking. She had the ability to overcome any obstacle she faced throughout her lifetime, always focused on making the most of what she had. Her love of laughter and family will forever be remembered, and she will be missed greatly. Tillie was preceded in death by her parents, Ben Tilman Bell and Mary Etta Lion Bell; husband, Johnnie Frank Timmons; and siblings, Billie Marie Bell Elmore, Mary Kathryn Bell Morton, Kenneth Bell, Betty Bell, Linda Bell Gee, Janice Bell Adams, and Ben Tillman Bell, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Ohman & her husband, Richard; son, Rocky Timmons; grandchildren, Brandie Ohman Hajdasz, and Jerod Heath Ohman & his wife, Hannah Lopez Ohman; great grandchildren, Sophia Bella Hajdasz, Madeleine Olivia Hajdasz, Eleanor Beatrix Ohman Lopez, and Amy Dawn Timmons; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends.
