Tim Rodgers

Tiamons Aster "Tim" Rodgers, age 84, of Samantha, AL died July 30, 2025 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, August 4, 2025 at Salem Baptist Church in Berry, AL with Rev. John Wesley Burkhalter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brazzie Taylor Rodgers and Perry Chester "Check" Rodgers.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Nichols Rodgers; daughter, Pam Traweek (Joel); son, Shane Rodgers (Tracy); four grandchildren, Taylor Rodgers Burkhalter (John Wesley), Joshua Rodgers, Jordan Rodgers and Jaxon Rodgers; great-grandson, John Wesley "J. B." Burkhalter III and aunt, Martha Taylor Donour.
Tiamons was born April 2, 1941 in Samantha, Alabama. He was a member of the first graduating class of Northside High School in 1960 and was retired from the Tuscaloosa County Road and Bridge Department. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam. Tiamons was a member of the Northside Lions Club and a longtime member of the Samantha Volunteer Fire Department.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Rodgers, Jordan Rodgers, Jaxon Rodgers, Rodney Lunceford and W. C. Donour.
Honorary Pallbearers are friends of the Samantha community and former co-workers
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff of DCH 5 South and the staff of Hospice of West Alabama for their excellent care. The family would also like to express their special thanks to the Tuscaloosa VAMC for their help and concern, specifically Ronald Jones and Jeffrey Bloch.
