Tim Scott Sinka, 65, of New Carlisle passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 10, 2022.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1956, in South Bend to the late John and June (Tarr) Sinka, and was a lifelong area resident.
He is survived by his lifelong companion of 44 years, Christi Gumm; his daughter, Kelli Gumm of New Carlisle; two grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Gumm of Oak Park, Illinois, and Mercedes Gumm (Jeffrey Jurczak) of Buchanan, Michigan; three great-grandchildren, Michele, Lucey and Sawyer; a sister, Tawni (David) Maenhout of Indianapolis, Indiana; and by two brothers, Chris Sinka of Lansing, Illinois, and John Sinka of New Carlisle.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew.
Tim worked as a heavy equipment operator for Local 150. He enjoyed flying, riding his motorcycle and snowmobiling. His greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. (ET) Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert St., New Carlisle. A memorial service for Tim will take place at 11 a.m. (ET) Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in the funeral home.
