Timothy James Callaghan. Born July 16, 1955. Passed away November 6, 2024 of a heart attack.
Tim was born in San Francisco on July 16, 1955. He moved to San Rafael, Marin County when he was three years old. He lived the rest of his life in Marin County for 66 years.
He worked in real estate for a number of years, before working in retail the rest of his career. He started out at Dandy Market in San Rafael as a teenager. Tim later became part owner. When he left Dandys, he joined Safeway in 1992. He started in the Deli dept, later got transferred to the Liquor dept, which he loved. He loved interacting with everyone. The customers loved laughing and joking with Tim, and he was very knowledgeable on wine/ food pairing. He always knew the right wine to recommend. Customers would always come back and thank Tim. He worked for Safeway 25 years and retired in 2017.
Tim was loved dearly by his family and friends. His dear friends would affectionately call him Timbo. Tim was a sweet gentle man, very generous, very thoughtful, and very funny. He had a very warm heart, he had a light that glowed.
Tim is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann ( Patti) Callaghan of 38 years, or 41 years from the day they first met, and all his dear friends, and family, who will always remember his happy spirit.
Tim and Patti are soul-mates, so he is saying close by her side, and will be Forever and Always. They are "TimPattico".
Tim and Patti did enjoy a lot of traveling over the years, including four Princess Cruises to the Mexican Riviera, and the Inland passage to Alaska, and a trip to the Grand Canyon, and Yosemite. They also loved traveling up and down the coast, checking out new places to stay. They bought a timeshare in 2008, at Hyatt Highlands Inn in Carmel. Through the timeshare, they were able to travel to Carmel and Lake Tahoe time share too. Tim loved the forest, Patti loved the ocean, so they got the best of both worlds.
Tim was such a happy- go - lucky guy. Always ready to have some fun. Tim loved classic rock. He loved playing " air guitar", " air drums", and singing to his favorite songs. He will be so missed by us all. Remember the laughter and the good times we had with our Tim, and hold up a glass to cheer, we are thankful for all the times you were here, and we will never be apart, because you are Forever in our Hearts, Tim, our Timbo.
