Timothy Carroll, 67, of Point Pleasant, NJ, passed away on June 20, 2025 after a long and difficult struggle with cancer. He was an unwaveringly devoted father, step-father and grandfather, a Cold War Navy veteran, and an artist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joan Murphy and Thomas Carroll, and his brothers Sean and Tom Carroll. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Patti Carroll, his kids Molly Carroll (Alex), Theresa Miskovics, April Steele (Jim), and Ted Boud (Cindy), his grandchildren Caden, Kaley and Frankie, his sisters Lorna Soble and Liz Chappelle and their families, his cat Boo, and his dog Jack.
Tim was deeply proud of his time as Chief Petty Officer in the Navy during the Cold War, serving from 1976 to 1988. He also loved to garden, he loved to cook, and he loved to make things; his family is grateful to be able to keep pieces of him through his driftwood furniture, sculptures and poetry.
Tim got up early every morning and drove down to the Manasquan Inlet to watch the sunrise while listening to music -- everything from Steely Dan and Steppenwolf to Boygenius and Alanis Morissette, but he loved Pink Floyd most of all. He kept stacks and stacks of loose CDs in his car no matter how many CD cases his family bought him.
We love you, we wish you were here, but we'll see you someday on the dark side of the moon.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Ocean University Medical Center for their compassionate care during Tim's illness.
Memorial services will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the FeelGood Foundation or American Cancer Society, plant something in your garden, or make art and share it with the people you love.
Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation Service, 43 Taylor Avenue, Manasquan, NJ.
