John Aloysius Begley, Jr. (Jack) passed away on September 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born on July 9, 1929, in Brooklyn New York to John Aloysius and Elizabeth (Wallace) Begley. He graduated from St. Michael's High School and spent a year at New York Maritime College before entering the United States Naval Academy. Jack was a very proud graduate of the class of 1955 (11th Company). Upon graduating from the Naval Academy, Jack attended the Supply Officers School in Athens, Georgia. He was assigned to the USS Shadwell (LSD -15) as a Disbursing Officer and the USS Kyne (DE-744) as a Supply Officer. His shore duty was at MSTS Atlantic as an Exchange Officer.

One beautiful day during the summer of 1957, Jack met the love of his life, Ann Therese Maher at the Breezy Point Surf Club. They were married in November 1958. In 1960, Jack left active duty to earn his law degree from Fordham University. His first position as an attorney was with the Federal Aviation Agency in New York. Jack then practiced corporate law until his retirement. Upon retiring, Jack and Ann Therese moved to the Jersey Shore. Jack was a past president of the Saint Michael's High School Alumni Association and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. Jack was also a member of the Saint Vincent dePaul Society and an active parishioner at Saint Denis Church, Manasquan.

Jack was predeceased by his parents and brother, Eugene. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ann Therese and his four daughters: Suzanne Clark (Kevin), Nancy Lehto (Jon), Jane Violet (Jimmy), Carol Scanlon (Jimmy), 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 11:00 am at St Denis Church in Manasquan, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saint Vincent dePaul Society of St. Denis Catholic Church 90 Union Avenue Manasquan, NJ 08736. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Sunnyside Manor for the exemplary care provided during his time there.
