Timothy Falls Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Legacy Options Funeral and Cremation Services, LLC - Naples on Jan. 24, 2024.
Dr. Timothy Harold Falls, 76, of Brighton, Michigan, and Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away in Bonita Springs on January 19, 2024. Born on September 6, 1947, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Timothy was the son of Dr. Harold and Emeline (Duckwitz) Falls.
Timothy received his postgraduate schooling from the University of Michigan, where he earned his doctoral degree in education. He began his career as a chemistry teacher in Novi, Michigan, then he went on to also become a mentor, coach, and principal, and a teacher of secondary education students at U of M. Timothy's passion for teaching was evident to all who knew him, and he was well-loved by his students and peers.
Tim always had a smile and a handshake for everyone. He was inclusive, humble about his accomplishments, and committed to living a full life every day. He fiercely loved his family, he would do anything for his wife Patty, and was incredibly proud of his children.
Tim enjoyed following Michigan Football ("Go Blue!"), spending time in his gardens, and fishing, taking every chance he could to "drop a line in the water." He had a deep love for golf, was a proud member and past president of Lakelands Golf and Country Club in Brighton, and was a member of Worthington Country Club in Bonita Springs. Known for reading five or more books at any one time, Tim had a thirst for knowledge and read about a multitude of topics, especially American history. He was also a supporter of the five o'clock happy hour, "It's happy hour somewhere in the world."
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Patty (Marshall) Falls, and their two children, Kelli (Mike Foley) Falls, and Dr. Thomas James (Laurie Poindexter) Falls. He is also survived by his two siblings, Thomas Falls, and Hariette (James) Gray; three in-laws, Ginger (Rick) Renkiewicz, Susan (Darryl) Forintos, and James Marshall; as well as many loving nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Judith (Tom's wife).
A celebration of Timothy's life will be held Saturday at 5-7pm in the Worthington Golf and Country Clubhouse. Michigan family and friends will also gather at a later date to remember his remarkable life and the impact he had on those around him.

Tim Falls was my student teacher @ JR. HIGH WEST in Plymouth. I would like to say that was circa 1971. HE WAS THE BEST. He wore aviator style glasses before they were popular & drove a Cuda. He would pick me up almost every day after school when I was hitchhiking and drop me off at the corner. We went fast.....& at 14 years old - that was the best. He was an awesome Human. Years later while playing district golf, I ran into him at Lakelands. That was the best......to be able to say thanks to a guy that was so kind to me when I was a kid was just the so great. We both loved it.......LONG LIVE MY OLD STUDENT TEACHER........ONE CLASS ACT. Kim Woody / Birmingham, Mi.

Recently, I learned of Tim´s passing. Tim and I became very good friends during our freshman year at Michigan nearly 60 years ago. We lived across the hall from each other in Gomberg Dorm during that first year and then rented an apartment together our senior year. I have very fond memories of those early days. We stayed in contact over the years, always having a good time and laughing during our conversations. It was like no time had passed since our last conversation due to Tim´s outgoing nature and friendly personality. I will miss my longtime friend very much. God bless Patty and her family. Go Blue! Mr. Falls father Dr. Falls was a good friend of my grandmother (Irene Lindow) at Lakeland's Golf and Country Club and knew my mother (Gail Lindow Curro, later Gail Doran) from childhood. While he was the golf coach at Novi High my Lakeland's buddies (Rob and Chris Hackman, John Chermside, Jim and Robert Kennedy, etc.) and me would all do our best to lead Pinckney High over Novi. While our paths rarely passed after I graduated high school and went off to U of M and life it was always a treat to see him and say hello when we bumped into each other back at Lakeland's when visiting my mother before her passing. Rest in Peace. Go Blue!!

Dr. Falls was my principal from 90-92 at Novi Meadows. He was a genuine, kind man who put himself into his work. He loved us kids.
